PokeVenture: Kai Ref' sheet

My character in #Poke-fanclub's PokeVenture, who tag-teams with ~Ronniemon's Quiliava - Roy. c:

We found out about this in the early hours of this morning for me, I haven't slept since cause I had to work on stuff. xD

..Of course Ronnie slept through her alarm and >> <<

BUT YEAH trust us to join something 10 hours before the deadline.

Name: Kai
Species: Raichu
Gender: Male
Nature: Timid
Age: Young (Teen)
Attacks: Thunderbolt, Double Team, Quick Attack, Light Screen

Ability: Static (May paralyze foes upon contact)

Misc.: Kai wears a blue bandana made from the same material as the Silk Scarf, thus his normal type moves are more powerful. (In his case, quick attack)

Personality:

<sub>Kai is very timid and shy, he has low confidence facing new experiences by himself and feels awkward if left alone with a new person - he doesn't like feeling pressured to start conversation either. However, he's much more confident if he has a friend with him, as he feels that there's safety in numbers and that he's less likely to look vulnerable - be it to attacks or simple teasing.

He normally carries his Pokeball with him, and has done so since he was a Pikachu. He felt alone inside of it and preferred to be outside of his Pokeball and on Keilidh's shoulder's as he felt safer being close to his human and also felt reassured that he could protect her if she got into trouble instantly. (Keilidh got Kai at the age of 5, and whilst she wasn't a real trainer until recently she did accompany her older brother throughout the kanto and johto region and got into a few battles by "accident")

Kai carried his Pokeball back then so that Keilidh couldn't attempt to put him in it, and now he simply does so as a matter of habit - it's also somewhat of a comfort to him though. As he's carried it throughout most of his journeys and feels like there's some sentimental value.

He's funny and generally seen with an (albeit shy) smile on his face that people warm up to easily and it gives off approachable vibe from him. He's also pretty wise but tends to act silly to make his friend's laugh. He rarely feels sad but if a friend is upset and Kai doesn't know how to help he'll normally spend way too much time thinking of a solution, and avoid talking to other's until he knows what to do.

He's, like most Pokemon, is very protective of his trainer, and sometime's feels like he should be the one looking after her because she tends to get into sticky situations.</sub>



History:

<sub>Kai was caught as a Pikachu by a trainer who intended to take on Cerulean city's Gym with an electric type, but after a visit back to his home his little sister played with the Pikachu and very quicky the two were inseperable. The Pikachu was given to Keilidh as a gift, and she named him Kai - it's thought that this was supposed to match her own name. (No really, it is. I'm honestly basing Kai's entire history off my gameplay of Pokemon Blue right through to soul silver and using the same in game/real life influences. I think that's where I got the name from when I was younger)

Keilidh was too young to train Pokemon herself, so Kai was more like a pet to her than anything and her only Pokemon for several years before she began to catch others in preperation for the day she'd be allowed to go off on her own journey. Until then, both travelled with Keilidh's older brother (LOL I'm reluctant to say my brother's name in case he goes all KEILIDHHHH) to learn from him and explore the regions to get familiar with them.

They travelled through Johto and Kanto together, then Keilidh began her own journey independant from her brother in Hoenn. They moved on to the Hoenn region where Keilidh and Kai met Ronnie at Professor Birch's lab. The two trainer's kept in touch throughout their Hoenn adventure and battled occasionally (Similar concept to the Rivalry between May/Sapphire and Brendan/Ruby) with the goal of racing to beat the champion before the other (Friendly competition).

Afterwards, they agreed to travel together. Kai has been Keilidh's only consistent Pokemon throughout her whole journey, thus he's made friends with almost all of the one's on her team - though some are jealous of his "Pokemon partner" status and he tends to get protective of this. Throughout the Sinnoh region he was nervous of Keilidh's new friend and that he may lose Keilidh to her. He was never mean to Ronnie but accepted that his relationship with Keilidh was more of a partnership than her best friend near the end of the region and is now content with that, and since Ronnie got her Cyndaquil, (Now a Quilava) Roy, in the Johto region, Roy feels he is closer to him than he has been with other Pokemon on either teams as Roy also travels outside his Pokeball. He actually considers the Quilava his best friend, though he's never said this aloud for fear of being rebuffed.

Kai is now travelling with Keilidh, Ronnie, Roy and both trainer's teams throughout the Kanto region. This is extremely nostalgic for him and he remember's it better than Keilidh does. He's glad to be reliving the experience with his friends.</sub>
